Chains of freedom
Where one learns that freedom has a price.
My best friend is buying a house. Now, this could be just a pretty normal thing in a normal life, but for my best friend to buy a house is more than just having a roof over her head, although of course, this is important. No, buying a house here is a little like ratifying her freedom. And to buy a house, she's applying for mortgage. We were talking yesterday, and it suddenly occured to me that the situation was paradoxical. You apply for mortgage, basically tying yourself up for years with money chains and that grants you freedom. An interesting way to look at it. Does freedom always come with strings ? I wonder. Something to ponder.
